A message from the Secretary General: Hello and welcome to www.vmun.com, home of Vancouver Model United Nations 2009! The site is currently under reconstruction and will be completed sometime over the next few months. The conference will likely be taking place again at the Marriot Pinnacle Hotel in downtown Vancouver, and further announcements concerning the exact details will be posted as soon as they are determined. There will be six different committees this year, each representing a unique sector of the United Nations. The actual committees, along with their topics and background guides, will be posted on the website by July. Each shall provide stimulating debate and prove that compromises can be reached, setting a precedent for the real United Nations, where cooperation can be invaluable to solving world issues. As Secretary General of the 2009 Conference, it is my utmost pleasure to introduce this year’s distinguished secretariat:
